What is a Pastor?

What is a pastor?  Hebrews 5:1-4 says:

For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.  He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness.  Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people.  And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.

What does this mean?

There is no threshing himself into a fever of impatience or frustration, no holier-than-thou rebuking of the people, no begging them in terms of hyperbole to give some physical sign that the message has been accepted.  It is simply one man, conscious of his sins, aware of how little progress he makes and how hard it is to be a doer of the Word, sympathetically passing onto his people (whom he knows have the same sort of problems as himself) what God has said to them and to him.
